Again, its way past time to show a little bit of love.
My newest Etsy Team focuses on bead embroidery, which is one of my very favorite techniques. Its actually a form of beadweaving, so there’s a lot of crossover between it and the Etsy Beadweavers team I talked about on January 3. Its also really active – members have to join in on the challenges on a regular basis as well as keeping a minimum number of bead embroidered pieces in their shop. But its also significantly smaller.
In the photos, Danielle is wearing two bead embroidered pieces I did for challenges. I’ll talk about the one below later this month. The one to the left was done for the online Battle of the Beadsmiths 2012.
I am part of a number of teams on Etsy and I’ll speak about a few more of my teams over the next few weeks. A little about the bead embroidery guild, though, in their own words:
This team specifically represents bead embroidery artists. This is group of talented artists with their own sense of creativity, mature style/skills and willingness to belong to a group and support each other with knowledge, information and promotion in all ways possible.
The EBEG Team is made up of bead embroidery artists who aspire to successfully market their beadwoven creations on Etsy.com and elsewhere. As such the EBEG Team has two areas of focus:
1) Practical business help, including sales promotion by networking, marketing and creating awareness of bead embroidery as an art.
2)Artistic inspiration, instruction and encouragement.
What is bead embroidery? It is a type of bead work that uses needle & thread or soft flexible wire/fireline to stitch beads to a surface or just about anything!! Some common surfaces are fabric, suede, & leather. Most bead embroidery takes the form of jewelry or personal adornment, wall hanging & sculpture.
You can read up on all our events at our team blog http://etsybeadembroideryguild.wordpress.com/.
And finally, the list of team members. Stop by their shops and show them a little bit of love!
