Late last month, I signed up for the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party.

You can read more about it here http://goodrivergallery.blogspot.com/2013/01/bead-soup-blog-party-sign-ups.html, but basically the gist is below

This idea is from Lori Anderson who has already hosted six of these blog parties and has written a book about the results.  Its called Bead Soup:  34 Projects Show What Happens When 24 Beaders Swap Their Stash.  Its available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.  I got it downloaded to my Nook.

First, in order to participate, you must have a blog!
Second, no, you do NOT have to make your own beads (but I do – don’t tell my swap partner)
We signed up on her blog from January 25-27.  www.BeadSoupBlogParty.com

Last night I got my partner, and before February I’ll mail her a Party Pack.  Read down to find out who I got paired with!  But here’s what I get to send.
::  A focal  ::
::  Some coordinating spacers or beads  ::
::  A special clasp (not just a lobster claw)  ::

She’ll send me the same.  When I get my package of beads, I’ll show them on this blog.  Then I’ll make something with the beads (or several pieces!), take a picture, and post it here on the reveal day.

MY REVEAL DAY IS MARCH 30!

Everyone hops around to as many blogs as possible to see what people made.  You don’t have to hop all on one day and you aren’t obligated to visit all the blogs.

I also took part in the Kalbach Bead Soup Blog Party last October when the book was released and got paired up with Eva, who owns Grand River Beads in Northern Ohio.  She sent me a whole slew of really gorgeous beads and I made this

It was actually really hard for me – you can read about it if you take a look at my October 2012 blog posts.  There are about 5 in there outlining my process.
BUT, WITHOUT FURTHER ADO…
—————-
I’d like you all to meet my Bead Soup Blog Party Swap Buddy, Darlene Fortier!
Darlene owns Darlicious Rejuvenations and in her own words she “creates one-of-a-kind recycled and salvaged jewelry with a hint of bike.”
She creates upcycled jewelry that I’ve just learned I’m in love with.  In my post on Wednesday, I’ll take you window shopping through her store, but meanwhile, you can check it out her Etsy store and also her blog (where I hope she shows you what I’ll send her and come up with something FABULOUS on reveal day).
Of course she lives in Santa Fe…  Just to remind me how much I miss the beautiful skies in Taos.
