REVEAL – Bead Soup Blog Hop!

Just to recap… I’m taking place in the Pretty Things: Blog Hop – Bead Hoarder’s edition.  You can read all about it here

http://www.prettythingsblog.com/2017/01/instructions-for-bead-soup-blog-party.html
and then check out the whole list of participants here http://www.prettythingsblog.com/2017/03/welcome-to-bead-soup-blog-party-bead.html

I had two partners, so drop on by their blogs and you’ll see what I sent to them!  Read on for links and to see what I made with the beauties they sent to me!

Anyhow, my first partner out of two (this is kind of random but her beads arrived first so I’m going to talk about them and her first) is Barbara S Fernald-

https://barbarasfernald.com/

Barbara does incredible silver clay beads.  Be sure to read her blog and then check out her lovely gallery of work (https://barbarasfernald.com/gallery/)

Ready to see what she sent?  And then JUST LOOK at these lovelies…  I can just see why she hoarded the lampwork – and then she included some of her own pieces!  I’m so spoiled.

I think my finished set of earrings is pretty obvious in terms of design but after a bunch of drawings, I just had to go with it – it was just too elegant.  The drawing of the design gets a little busy, though I adore the finished set…

My second partner for the swap was  Liz Engriser –

http://beadcontagion.blogspot.com/.

Liz does incredibly beautiful and textured bead embroidery. Make sure you go ahead and read her blog and look at all of her process and finished piece photos.

As a reminder, here’s the lovely hoard she sent to me:  A handpainted Alphonse Mucha focal bead, pearls, crystals, an incredible handmade clasp, shells and an XFiles-worthy alien head bead.  There was also some chocolate, but it lasted 3 seconds.

So…  I decided to hoard the heck out of the clasp and used the pearls, crystals and Mucha bead.  Apparently I like fringe – you knew that already, right?

Hi Hannah, Your designs are all very unique. I really like the earrings. The rhinestones were a great way to accent the focal in the pearl necklace. I adore your fringe on the Mucha focal. It shows the pendant off so well. Wonderful designs.

Thank you so much Becky! I had a really good time with the hoarded treasures!

Your earrings are gorgeous (and the drawing!) and I love your fringe. Great use of your beautiful materials.

Thank you! I was really pleased with how they all turned out!

Thanks Barb! I’m just starting my hop after coffee. I’m afraid that the other two pieces you sent are now going to be hoarded by ME!

Yay, reveal day! I love the earrings you made with my beads and the head pins by Jennie Yip. Your fringe on the two other pieces is amazing. You were brave to take on two partners. Well done! It’s been fun meeting you as partners in the BSBP and I’m glad to have a new blog to follow. Yours!

Thank you Barb! I really loved seeing what you sent. Unfortunately for me, I think I’ll be hoarding the remaining two focal beads.

Wow, every piece is amazing – I love, love the earrings!

Thank you! I love them too!

    Hi Hannah,

How absolutely wonderful! I never plan anything in advance, so to see your sketch and the finished earrings is a treat. Barbara’s silver beads are amazing, and although that pairing seemed obvious to you, it wasn’t obvious to me. It works splendidly.

Of course I adore sexy, swinging, asking to be touched, thick and luscious fringe. I love what you did with the Mucha bead!

Thanks for being a great partner. You handled two soups so well, perhaps next time you should offer yourself up to be partnered with three people 🙂

Awww… Liz. That’s sweet of you to say. I have to tell you that the pieces you sent were just beautiful. I’m pretty sure that the Mucha piece is going to be hoarded by me FOREVER. Did I tell you that he’s my favorite artist?

      Thank you Elizabeth!

Wow, your work is just dazzling!

Beautiful designs! I especially love those earrings. Elegant is so right on for that piece.

    1. goodrivergallery Avatar

I adore the earrings and also the Mucha bead. I think both will end up being hoarded in a different way – in my private jewelry collection.

    Beautiful! I love your fringe!

    1. goodrivergallery Avatar

Thank you! I adore fringe – I think everything should have it!

    fantastic beadwork! I admire!

      Thank you so much!

Nothing wrong with “obvious” earrings — when the beads are gorgeous, they’re speaking all on their own! I love them! I also love her work with silver.

The alien head! How cool! And tassels are IN, I’m telling you. I think it’s a wonderful way to accent a fabulous bead.

I’m so honored you joined the party! Have a piece of pie! 😉

    1. goodrivergallery Avatar

I adore that alien head, but just hadn’t decided what to do with it YET. I’d love some pie, thank you! Hope to see you soon in real life!

  13. pinkchapeau Avatar

Just beautiful!!! I love the earrings. And I agree with the comments about the Mucha pendant…what you did is perfect!

    1. goodrivergallery Avatar

Thank you! I adore the Mucha pendant and the earrings – both are going to be part of my “private” jewelry collection.

  14. windbent Avatar

I didn’t think the earrings were obvious at all and things don’t have to be overly complicated to just work and those work. Besides, you have plenty of fringe going on. I can’t even decide which of the pendants I like best; I think Mucha…but then I love the pattern over and surrounding the shell. I would hoard the clasp too! Will we see an alien piece?

    1. goodrivergallery Avatar

Hi there! XXOO. I’m still thinking over the alien head piece. I think that the Mucha pendant and the earrings are heading into my private jewelry collection. I just love them both.

I love your fringe! And those earrings are gorgeous, nothing obvious about it.

    1. goodrivergallery Avatar

Thank you, Ann! The earrings are going to now be part of my hoarded jewelry. Aren’t the silver clay beads fantastic?

  17. Dorothy Supri Avatar

Gorgeous work! I’m a bit jealous of those silver clay beads! 🙂

    1. goodrivergallery Avatar

Thanks Dorothy! They are even more fantastic in person – I’m going to be keeping these earrings for sure!

  18. Rachel Avatar

I am OBSESSED with the tassel you made for that Mucha bead. At first I thought the top part of the tassel was organic moss or delicate seed beads from the smaller photo, but then once I enlarged it, I realized they were just as beautiful swarovskis! Love love love it!

    1. goodrivergallery Avatar

Thank you, Rachel! I’m obsessed with Mucha AND fringe so this piece is all mine!

Beautiful, love how you do fringe.

You did a really wonderful job with both sets of soup! They were both so interesting and different, yet you were able to work them in to your own style. Well done!

    1. goodrivergallery Avatar

Thank you Hope. Both of my soups were super beautiful so I was lucky! My thanks to both my partners.

I’m always in awe of people who “see” seed beads and their designs. I just haven’t worked much with them. Obviously you have and have nailed the skill, and then some. GREAT, fabulous, amazing work. wow

Thank you Joyce! I had a really good time with this challenge.
